Available 1 August 2012.

Abstract

Relevance

In modern linguistics knowing of the dimensional integrity (the unity of form and content) as a basis of identification of specific linguistic unit has become a prerequisite for revision of priority of the form over the meaning. These parameters should be underlying the selection of the allocation of the syntactic category of modality, which eliminates the principles of classification and a descriptive analysis of the linguistic phenomena, devoided of functional and semantic aspects. But this approach does not provide the absolute identity of all researchers in the concepts of the interpretation status, boundaries and grammatical implementation of modality. Polar position taken by the scientists who qualifies this category from different perspectives (communicational, logical and grammatical, semantic), uses its wide and narrow interpretation etc. Therefore, nowadays syntactic modality requires new thinking, which motivates the relevance of the study.

Purpose

The purpose of the article is a comprehensive study of grammatical categories of syntactic modality, theoretical justification of complex of its of classificative features, underlying the selection of the grammeme implementation of the analyzed linguistic value.

Tasks

The declared purpose predetermines the necessity of decision of such tasks: 1) to describe syntactic modality as a communicative-pragmatic categorical unit of a subjective direction; 2) to investigate categories of modality against the background of the morphological category of the mood of verb, to define it and substantiate the specificity of the grammatical differentiation; 3) to characterize notional and morphological features of all grammems of syntactic modality.

Conclusion

Syntactic modality is communicatively oriented category of sentence, which has a subjective direction, by realizing the intention of the speaker, represents interpreted as a real or unreal, combines eight grammems (narrative, interrogative, imperative, willing, conditional, asserting/negative, likely and retelling), which display is linked with a definite plan of expression.

Perspective

Perspective of this study is to learn in detail each grammeme of category of syntactic modality. Research highlights

► In the article a comprehensive study of grammatical categories of syntactic modality is given, its definition is presented. ► Specificity and number of grammatical meanings of syntactic modality are found. ► The system of classificative features, underlying the selection of the analyzed linguistic phenomena are described. ► The formal means of their implementation are characterized.

Keywords: syntactic category of modality, narrative modality, interrogative modality, imperative modality, willing modality, conditional modality, asserting/negative modality, the likely modality, modality retelling.

FORMAL-GRAMMATICAL IDENTITY OF THE MAIN COMPONENT OF GENERALIZED-PERSONAL SIMPLE SENTENCE IN UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE

Ludmila Koval

Department of the Ukrainian Language and General Linguistics, Kotsiubynsky Vinnitsa State Pedagogical University, Vinnitsa, Vinnitsa region, Ukraine

Available 1 August 2012.

Abstract

Relevance

Initially it thoughts that forms of the 2nd person in singular and plural present and future tense are subcategorical explications of generality at syntactic level. But historical mental and language changes in society caused to generalization of the content of individual structural and semantic types of composite sentences, in particular for definite- and indefinite-personal, impersonal and infinitive constructions in general, respectively, and to extend the range of morphological figuration of the main component in generalized-personal sentence. This motivates the need to organize the views of linguists on morphological identity of the main component of generalized-personal sentence and theoretically interpret the linguistic nature of the principal component generalized-personal structure of simple sentence in Ukrainian and by analyzing the interaction of verbal categories of method, time, type, person (gender), and the number. It helps to sort the corps of generalized-personal sentences on the basis of morphological identification of the main component of a simple structure.

Purpose

The purpose of the paper is to analyze the formal grammatical parameters of the main component of generalized-personal structure of simple sentence in Ukrainian language.

Tasks

The purpose necessitates solving the following tasks:

1) to make abstract on views of syntax researchers on the lingual nature of the main component of generalized-personal statement;

2) theoretically interpret the linguistic nature of the principal component of generalized-personal structure of simple sentences in Ukrainian;

3) to sort the corps of generalized-personal sentences on the basis of morphological identification of the main component of a simple structure.

Conclusion

Grammatical subcategorical definition of generalization to syntactic level makes through a variety of grammatical forms, among which are genetically primary form of expression on the main component of generalized-personal sentence with 2nd person in singular and plural of the present and future tense. Human evolution has led to the development of the language system, partial manifestation of which was the generalization of the semantics of diverse-composite sentences towards generalization that caused the expansion of formal grammatical content of the main component of generalized-personal sentence.

Such (secondary) forms explication generalized semantics are qualified as peripherals and half-peripherals. Transformation is defined and indefined-personal constructions in relevant pragmatic linguistic conditions in generalized-personal and makes tends to expansion of formal grammatical range main component generalized-personal

sentence by forms of 1st and 3d person in singular and plural present and future tense, plural and singular gender forms of past tense in 1st person in plural and 2nd and 3 d person in singular and plural of imperative, and the set of all generic forms singular subjunctive mood. These forms are half-peripherals on explication of the main component of generalized-personal sentences in Ukrainian language, but these form the periphery of the main component is derived from the main component and impersonal infinitive-composite sentences and objectified impersonal verbal lexemes and infinitives. Analytical adverbial verb and noun shall also implement the semantics of a generalization, but not design principal component generalized-personal simple sentence structure.

Simple main component of generalized-personal sentence implements predicate value with single element. Verb clearance is determined by the interaction of the categories the mood, time, aspect, person, gender, number which grammems expression has led to the allocation of 46 potential structural subtypes of principal component generalized-personal simple sentence structure.

Perspective

Perspective appears not only scrupulous study of formal-grammar parameters of the main component of generalized-personal simple sentence structure, but also the interpretation of the main categories of component-composite sentence generally in subcircle ratios.

Research highlights

► The paper summarizes the views of linguists on the morphological identity of the main component of generalized-personal sentences. ►The language nature of the main component of its simple structure in the Ukrainian language is interpreted. ►The system of structural subtypes of the main component of simple generalized-personal sentences based on the analysis of the interaction of verbal categories of mood, time, aspect, person (gender), and number is allocated.

Keywords: the main component of generalized-personal sentence, formal-grammatical component of simple structure, a structural subtype of main component of simple generalized-personal sentence.

THE CONCEPT FEAR IN PICTURE OF WORLD OF AUTHOR (BASED ON THE NOVEL BY L. DERESH "ADORATION TO THE LIZARD") Anna Kovalenko

Department of General Linguistics and Slavic Philology, Berdyansk State Pedagogical University, Berdyansk, Zaporizhzhya region, Ukraine

Available 15 September 2012.

Abstract

Relevance

Modern linguistic researches focus on the studying of national-language material in the light of the human mind, because different types of knowledge about the world somehow interpret, expand the vocabulary of the speaker and effect on the semantics of lexical items. Significant role in these processes is played by the emotional sphere. This study is based on the idea that the national language is an instrument of knowledge and interpretation of reality, and is related to nomination of objects and abstract concepts, wording ideas. Emotional concept is a complex structural and meaningful construct that is expressed through linguistic means. Despite the fairly large number of theoretical studies on conceptology problems, author believes that the methods of language representation of emotional concepts as an integral part of the human's inner world are insufficiently investigated, especially in the author's interpretation. This is the relevance of the article.

Purpose

The purpose of the article is to examine the functioning of the concept FEAR in the author's view of the world.

Tasks

To achieve the purpose of the study author has solved the following tasks: 1) to conduct a review of theoretical work on conceptology issues, 2) to determine the function of fear emotion in a human's life, and 3) to establish the structure of the concept core, and 4) to make an attempt to describe the ways of the concept FEAR expressing in the author's view of the world.

Sources of factual material

Sources of factual material are represented by Lyubko Deresh's novel "Adoration to the lizard". Conclusion

Author made a description of theoretical researches on conceptology issues and concluded that the concept is a complex multilayer formation, and emotional concepts are an integral part of the national linguistic world. In the author's interpretation of L. Deresh the core part of the concept FEAR is much wider than national. The national picture of the world is characterized by such components as: excitement, anxiety, and restlessness. Such elements as cold, heat, loss of consciousness, changes in facial expressions, heart rate, tone of voice (and so on) were added to the core in the author's picture.

Perspective

Perspective of this study is to continue the studying of the concept FEAR structure and ways of verbalization on material of languages of different systems on the synchronic and diachronic aspects.

Research highlights

The features of the author's interpretation of emotional concept FEAR in the Modern Ukrainian language world picture are considered. The role of emotional sphere in processes of knowledge and interpretation of objective reality is investigated. It was shown the value of fear emotion in human's life. The ways to express the concept in a novel "Adoration to the lizard" by L. Deresh are found.

TERMINOLOGICAL SYSTEM OF PHRASEOLOGY: THE STRUCTURE AND COMPONENTS OF TERMINOLOGICAL MICROSYSTEM "PHRASEOCLASSIFICATION"

Zhanna Krasnobaeva-Chorna

Department of Ukrainian Language and Applied Linguistics, Donetsk National University, Donetsk, Ukraine Available 5 September 2012.

Abstract

Relevance

Despite continuous scientific research of phraseology in domestic and foreign linguistics, at present new terms still come into phraseological terminological system (e.g. quasi-real idiom, phantom idiom), but that needs a theoretical and practical solution of problem of phraseological terms standardization. One of the most relevant tasks of contemporary phraseology is to form its terminological set and develop principles of systematization of phraseological terminology.

Purpose

The aims of the article are: 1) to determine the main principle of systematization of phraseological terms; 2) to study the structure of microsystem "phraseoclassification" and to determine its components.

Tasks

The stated purpose presupposes a solution of following tasks: 1) studying ideographic paradigm of terminological system of phraseology; 2) selection of terms with archiseme "phraseoclassification" from scientific linguistic literature; 3) determination of specificity of each phraseological unit classification; 4) identification of composition of determined terminological subsystems.

Conclusion

1. The main principle of phraseological terms classification in the research is a thesaurus principle, i.e. forming ideographic paradigm (terminological system - terminological microsystem - terminological subsystem - term).

2. Terminological microsystem "phraseoclassification" is one of four components of terminological system "phraseology" (cf. "phraseology as a science", "qualification features of phraseological units", "phraseography") and it consists of 16 subsystems (semantic classification of PhU; semantic-grammatical classification of PhU; structural-semantic classification of PhU; structural classification of phraseological units; expressive-stylistic classification of PhU; genetic classification of PhU; cognitive-genetic classification of PhU; ideographic classification of PhU; classification of PhU in terms of reconsideration of their components; classification of PhU according to derivative base; classification of PhU in terms of translation studies; classification of PhU according to field of use; classification of PhU according to lexical composition; functional classification of PhU; classification of PhU based upon phraseological application method; classification of PhU in terms of environment) and comprises around 150 terminological units, which help to reveal the specificity and essence of phraseological units.

Perspective

Study of structure and determination of composition of other terminological microsystems of phraseology are remaining relevant.

Research highlights

► The article is devoted to the actual problems of phraseological terminology. ► The principle of thesaurus is positioned as the main principle of term's systematization of modern phraseology. ► In the paper the structure and components of microsystem "phraseoclassification" are formed. ► The proposed model of terminological system of phraseology is the basis for the Dictionary of Phraseological Terms "The Contemporary Phraseology: Classificational Parameters of Phraseological Units".

IMPERSONAL NOMINATIVE-SUBSTANTIVAL SENTENCES IN RUSSIAN LANGUAGE Nina Kurmakaeva

Department of Russian Language, Donetsk National University, Donetsk, Ukraine

Available 23 September 2012.

Abstract Relevance

The necessity of handling of nominative-substantival impersonal sentences is dictated by the number of interconnected causes: the unsatisfactory presentation in study publications, the varied qualification of based component, and the absence of complex description in system of simple sentences. Constructions without subject with nominative-substantival component in predicate, which fixed by the tradition and in the impersonal sentences structure,

and in the structural schemes list, are not obtain in Russian syntax science enough of attention and need of more precise of important parameters line. Purpose

The purpose of the article is to reveal and to describe the peripheral realization of distant area field of the impersonal sentences which has just one main part of sentences like noun (or it substitute) in the one of case (sentence-case) forms with the sufficient detail in the field linguistics course.

Tasks

The implementation of the purpose provided the solution of such tasks: 1) to specify place of experimental structures in general area of impersonal sentences with support on principle of functional equivalence in completion of positional sentence composition; 2) to substantiate functional-grammatical status of predominant component; 3) to reveal the representation and group capacity.

Conclusion

Thus, nominative-substantival impersonal sentences are discovered in area of peripheral realization of distant of impersonal field, which is occupy by the word signs with different complication. The sentence-case word form in the underconnected component impersonal sentence predicat subposition not lose it "part of speech" identity like noun (or pronoun) and connected with source form like omosyntaxeme, composed with it functional paradigm. The nominative subgroup is ill-defined, practically closed, not developed. The substantive is extensive and formalizes in several structural schemes, which on the level of functional-syntactic principle of their presentation is possible to bring on common scheme with non-specialized word form in underconnected predicate subposition.

The consideration of disputable language construction in the aspect of field approach with support on the principle of word forms functional equivalence in the filling of position sentences structure, and also the usage of functional-syntactic principle of structure schemes presentation is makes it possible to differentiate base and derivative constructions, to build the hierarchy of predicative constituent elements in compliance with level of their syntactic specialization and with a glance of mechanism of balancing "true" or "false" on the completion of positions. Such approach is assure more infallible criteria for qualification of part of speech predicative representants.
